ELIMINATING ERROR

The high speed continuous Gyro Tracer Directional™ tool is comprised of a gyroscopic module based on a North-seeking gyroscope and works complementary to SPT’s Gyro Tracer™. Stockholm Precision Tools General Manager Orlando Ramirez says accuracy and precision is vital when designing new equipment, “The new Gyro Tracer Directional system is accurate to 0.5% depending on the well profile. Our tool directly measures the earth’s rotation, finding the geographical true North; this makes it more accurate than alternative tools which are based on indirect measurement methods.” Processing software integrated into the tool allows operators to observe real-time drill surveying and direct control of measuring while drilling systems.
